Quiet Sports

Welcome to a website about mountain biking, biking trails and tours, and even great places to do some wilderness hiking; the Midwest’s Mecca for Mountain Biking, Marquette County Michigan. Located on the southern shores of the world’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior is almost always on the horizon on the many trails that run across the entire county.  Once a place where mountains were as tall as the Rockies the winds of time have carved out a region that abounds with many granite rocks and lava flows from the Pre- Cambrian era. Now small mountains and hills with forests of pine, cedar, spruce, and birch are found over the entire county, as are rivers, streams, and waterfalls. Wildlife such as White Tailed Deer, Moose, Porcupines, River Otter, Black Bear, Timber Wolf, and Bald Eagles are found in the area.

We have trails for all levels of mountain biking so that everyone that chooses to participate in this wonderful form of exercise and adventure has a place to ride. A lakeshore pathway along the shoreline as been constructed by the City of Marquette that is several miles long and offers a beautiful ride out around Presque Isle Park and downtown around the lower harbor and Elwood Mattson Park. We offer guided tours on many of the most popular trails here that overlook the City of Marquette and Lake Superior from the top of Marquette Mountain, packages that include lodging and other quiet sports such as canoeing and kayaking or hiking, and information on mountain biking in other regions and areas of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We also provide links to area campgrounds, motels, restaurants, and business that provide other forms of quiet sports. Plan your vacation with us in Marquette, Michigan. If you are a Mountain Biking Junkie this is the place for you.
